Northwest Coastal Adventure
Day 1 - Arrive San Francisco A complimentary transfer is provided to your Trafalgar hotel. Your Tour Director will be at the hotel this afternoon to welcome you and answer questions.
Day 2 - San Francisco - Redwoods Travel into California's picturesque wine country and stop at a local winery for a guided tour and wine tasting. At Richardson Grove State Park, encounter your first significant old-growth redwood forest. Time for a walk through a redwood grove before checking in at the historic Benbow Inn on the banks of the Eel River. Get together for a welcome drink and dinner. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 3 - Redwoods - Gold Beach Journey along the world-renown "Avenue of the Giants," the most outstanding display of giant California redwood trees. Stop in the beautiful Victorian seaport of Eureka, stroll along the restored boardwalk and admire the city's magnificent houses including the William Carson Mansion, the most photographed Victorian in the United States. Journey through Redwood National Park and cross the border into Oregon. Board a jetboat for a thrilling ride along the scenic Rogue River and enjoy the spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Day 4 - Gold Beach - Oregon Coast — Newport Travel along the Oregon Coast, an area renown for its dramatic landscape and breathtaking vistas. At the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, enjoy an exhilarating dune buggy ride climbing and descending through some of the most beautiful and impressive dunes. Stop at Heceta Head Lighthouse, a beautiful lighthouse positioned in a fantasy setting. Continuing north, arrive in the seaside town of Newport. Tonight enjoy the fun of a bonfire and a smores party on the beach. (Full Breakfast)
Day 5 - Newport - Portland (2 nights) Following the coast north, turn inland and visit the excellent Evergreen Aerospace Museum, home to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. Drive through the scenic Willamette Valley, Oregon's premier wine country and arrive in Portland. Enjoy an orientation tour featuring the city's main landmarks and a visit to the world-famous International Rose Test Garden. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6 - Columbia River Gorge Excursion Explore the spectacular Columbia River Gorge, filled with dramatic scenery. Visit Bonneville Dam and learn about the Lewis and Clark expedition, the pioneers coming over the Oregon Trail and the damming of the Columbia River and its effect on the fishing industry. On the way back to Portland, pass many waterfalls, including the queen of them all — Multnomah Falls, cascading some 620 feet in frothy splendor. At Crown Point, enjoy breathtaking views over the gorge. The afternoon and evening are at leisure in Portland. (Full Breakfast)
Day 7 - Portland - Olympic National Park Visit the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center and learn about the volcanic blast of May 18, 1980. Continue west to the remote and rugged coast of Olympic National Park. Crashing waves, rugged headlands and long sandy beaches are yours to enjoy on this stunning stretch of the Washington Coast. We visit the Hoh Rainforest and join a short walk to the "Hall of Mosses." Enjoy a spectacular sunset from your hotel superbly located on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 8 - Olympic National Park - Puget Sound Ferry — Seattle Today is all about spectacular scenery — glacier-capped mountains, wild Pacific coast and magnificent stands of old-growth forests. Cross the Puget Sound to Seattle while enjoying the best views of the city. Join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 9 - Depart Seattle Your tour comes to an end today. A complimentary transfer is provided to Seattle SeaTac Airport. (Full Breakfast)
