Spend 11 days discovering the wonders of New England while staying in charming country inns. Pick up your rental car in Boston and explore historical sites such as Paul Revere's house, the USS Constitution, Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, Quincy Market, and Boston Harbor. North to Maine's Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, then on to New Hampshire and the White Mountains. Drive to the summit of Mount Washington before crossing into Vermont where you can visit the quaint village of Stowe, the Ethan Allen Homestead, take a cruise on Lake Champlain, and see scenic Quechee Gorge. Travel to the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts and maybe visit the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 19th-century settlement. Your final destination is Stockbridge, once home to Norman Rockwell and now home to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Finally, drive to Newport, known for its picturesque scenery and history, and enjoy a walk around the waterfront area.
