SOUTH AMERICAN ODYSSEY WITH BOTH EXTENSIONS

Then, enjoy a "Meeting of the Waters" cruise and arrive at your jungle lodge in the Amazonian rainforest. Here visit a native Amazon village, discover flora and fauna on naturalist guided walks and boat rides, fish for piranhas, and visit the Monkey Jungle Reserve! Next, fly to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for a 4-night stay, and take in the sights of South America's largest city, including Sugar Loaf Mountain, Corcovado Mountain, and the cathedral. Fly to Iguassu Falls to see the magnificent waterfalls and tropical foliage, then fly to Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. During your 4-night stay, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cemetery of the Recoleta, plus enjoy a day trip to Uruguay where you sail on a catamaran to Colonia de Sacramento. After a day of relaxing in Buenos Aires, fly to Bariloche in Patagonia and take a chairlift ride to Cerro Campanario. Your lake crossing journey then takes you on a boat cruise across Lago Nahuel Huapi, a drive through the forests and peaks of the Andes Mountains, a catamaran cruise across Lago Todos los Santos, and a picture stop at the Petrohue Rapids before reaching Puerto Varas, Chile. Stop in Puerto Montt en route to Santiago, where you visit San Cristobal Hill and the 18th-century cathedral. A day at leisure in the "Pearl of the Pacific" before flying to Lima, Peru, for an overnight. On to Cuzco, once the capital of the Inca Empire, then continue to the Sacred Valley and visit the Inca baths of Tambomachay, the Kenko Amphitheater, Puca Pucara, and the Temple of Sacsayhuaman. In the mountain village of Pisac, experience the local way of life with a home visit. Visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo and then travel to legendary Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco to learn more about the Incas on a guided tour, then fly to Lima for city sightseeing and the end of your incredible South American vacation.
