From San Jose, this exciting nine-day journey takes you to Poas Volcano to view its enormous crater and deep green lake. Stop in the local town of Zarcero before continuing on to Arenal, where you can relax in hot springs or take a thrilling zip ride through the forest. Next, travel to La Fortuna and pass into Arenal National Park for a hike; listen carefully for volcano rumblings! Visit Palo Verde National Park and cruise Tempisque River before reaching the white sand beaches of Tamarindo in the Guanacaste area, where you will have a free day to relax or choose from optional excursions such as snorkeling or surfing lessons. After a full day of leisure, depart for Monteverde, one of the most famous nature reserves in Costa Rica.
