Day 1 - USA — San José (2 nights) On arrival in San José you are met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 - Poas Volcano Excursion After breakfast we will have a half day tour to Poas Volcano. The tour will take you along the Pan-American heading towards the town of Alajuela and pass by the Agriculture Monument, Juan Santa Maria statue and the famous Mangos' Park. During the ascent to the volcano we stop at the coffee fields, then we pass through fern farm, strawberry plantations and flowers farms. On the top of the volcano, we will spend enough time to observe the principal crater with its sulphur fumaroles. Then, we will walk to the beautiful Botos lagoon where you can see the diverse flora and fauna of the cloud forest. (Buffet Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 3 - San José — Tortuguero National Park (2 nights) Today through Braulio Carrillo National Park to Freeman or Matina. After a two and a half hour boat ride, we will meet our guide who explains the plans for the next two days. Our lodge facilities include natural history guides, boats and family-style dining. The canals and rivers of Tortuguero National Park are a study in rainforest, freshwater and marine biology. (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4 - Tortuguero National Park at leisure Today you will explore the smaller canals and get closer to nature. During the months of May through September, you can take the optional turtle watching tour during the evening to admire one of the most impressive miracles of life. Pick up times for the different tours will be advised by your tour guide the same day, depends on weather conditions. (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5 - Tortuguero National Park — Arenal (2 nights) We transfer to Freeman or Matina by boat and on to Guápiles for an included lunch. Then on through the lowlands of Sarapiquí to see how various crops grow. Before arriving at our hotel, we see the still active Arenal Volcano. (Buffet Beakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 6 - Arenal at leisure A free morning to perhaps take an optional tour including windsurfing, bass fishing, hiking and the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. Later, off to the volcanic thermal mineral pools of Tabacon Hot Springs. Take a relaxing bath and enjoy the thrilling after dark show of the Arenal Volcano with its thundering explosions and bursts of glowing rock. We dine at a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 7 - Arenal — Jaco (2 nights) Today we continue our journey along the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio area. Then a free afternoon perhaps to enjoy the beach, take part in sports activities or just watch the sunset. (Buffet Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 8 - Manuel Antonio National Park Today we visit the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. It sits along the Pacific Coast and boasts an estuary, mangroves, a lagoon, beaches and winding paths. Take a walk through the tropical forest and find mosses, ferns, flowers and epiphytes growing thickly on every tree. One trail leads them to an observation tower with a breathtaking 360° view. You can hike for a while and stop for a refreshing swim at Third Beach or Gemelas Beach. This park is only seven kilometers Southeast from Quepos, and it's one of the most visited protected areas. Day 9 - Jaco — San José Bid farewell to this lovely place as we head back to San José. (Buffet Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 10 - San José — USA Today you are transferred to the airport for your flight to America. Arrival in America will be on the same day. (Buffet Breakfast)
