Explore the history of ancient civilizations during this exciting Panorama vacation. Arrive in Managua, Nicaragua, for an overnight and a city tour. Drive through Masaya Volcano National Park to see active volcanoes as well as incredible flora and fauna. On to the colonial city of Granada for guided sightseeing and a boat ride on volcano-formed Lake Nicaragua with its freshwater sharks. Fly to San Salvador for an overnight before departing for Copán, Honduras, the "Athens of the Maya world." A stop in Antigua, Guatemala, shows you that country's former capital and includes a tour of a jade factory. Visit a colorful Indian market and Church of Santo Tomás at Chichicastenango, then continue to Lake Atitlán for a cruise across this impressive geological phenomenon. Next, visit Santiago Atitlán and meet one of Guatemala's indigenous tribes. Depart for Guatemala City, where you - ll enjoy a city tour and free time before transferring to the airport for your flight to Flores. Here, a full-day excursion takes you to the World Heritage Site of Tikal, situated in a rainforest and is the largest of the ancient Maya cities. On to San Ignacio, Belize, with a stop at Yaxhá, another significant Mayan excavation. From San Ignacio, enjoy an excursion to Caracol, one of the great Mayan city-states of the Classic Period and home to the great Caana Pyramid. Finally, fly to beautiful Ambergris Caye, a narrow strip of paradise that parallels the Belize Barrier Reef.
