Treasures of Austria Italy & Switzerland 2009
Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Zurich.
Day 2 - Arrive Zurich Welcome to Zurich. Time to check-in and relax. After an orientation tour of this financial city, we join our Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink.
Day 3 - Zurich — St. Gallen — Munich — Innsbruck (3 nights) We travel via Lake Constance to Munich, the Bavarian capital. Orientation shows us the Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz and the Hofbräuhaus, before we continue to the charming city of Innsbruck. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)
Day 4 - Innsbruck orientation and at leisure Our morning orientation shows us the Golden Roof, Hofburg Palace, Wilten Basilica and the Olympic ski jump. Our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure in this beautiful mountain-ringed city today. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 5 - Salzburg Excursion We drive to the charming city of Salzburg where our guided walking tour includes the Mirabell Gardens and Mozart's birthplace. Time at leisure to explore before returning to Innsbruck for a Tyrolean Highlight Dinner. (Buffet breakfast / Highlight dinner)
Day 6 - Innsbruck — Verona (3 nights) We take the scenic Brenner pass route into Italy and descend to Lake Garda, before continuing to the romantic city of Verona for three nights. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 7 - Venice Excursion On arrival in magical Venice we take a private cruise along the canals to St. Mark's Square where we see the Basilica and the Doge's Palace. We witness a demonstration of Murano glass-blowing before time to explore. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)
Day 8 - Verona sightseeing and at leisure We enjoy a guided walking tour of Verona today, including the Roman Arena and Juliet's balcony. Then time at leisure to explore. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 9 - Verona — Lugano — Lucerne (2 nights) We drive north into Switzerland and visit lakeside Lugano before taking the Gottard route to Lucerne. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)
Day 10 - Lucerne orientation and at leisure Orientation includes the wooden Chapel Bridge and poignant Lion Monument. There is time for Swiss shopping before we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together with our Tour Director and fellow travelers. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)
Day 11 - Lucerne — Zurich — USA Time to bid farewell to our Tour Director as our memorable tour comes to an end. (Buffet breakfast)
Free airport transfers: Transfers on Day 2 at Zurich Airport will operate at 09.30, 11.00 and 12.30. Passengers arriving later should make their own way to the first hotel. Return transfers on the last touring day will arrive at Zurich Airport at 08.30.
