Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight transatlantic flight to London.
Day 2 - Arrive Rome (2 nights) Transfer to the hotel on arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport. Then you have time to relax in the 'Eternal City' or perhaps go out and explore this fascinating city. Romans live and love life to the full - so remember, when in Rome"!
Day 3 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure. Our morning sightseeing features St. Peter's Basilica plus views of the Forum and Colosseum. Later, free time to perhaps visit the Catacombs or enjoy a cappuccino at a pavement café. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Rome - Bay of Naples (2 nights) Today we head past the Abbey of Monte Cassino to the Bay of Naples, along the magnificent coastline to the Bay of Naples for two relaxing nights. This afternoon, why not take an optional excursion to see the excavations of Pompeii, the town literally petrified by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79- (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 5 - - Sorrento Excursion This morning we drive to the nearby resort of Sorrento to visit an inlaid wood workshop. Then free time to shop on the Piazza Tasso before maybe taking an optional excursion to the enchanting Isle of Capri. This former summer home of Roman Emperors is alive with colour and character. This evening we return to our hotel for dinner. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6 - Bay of Naples - Assisi Today we're off to mystic Umbria and the city of St. Francis, Assisi. On arrival an orientation tour includes
St. Francis' Basilica, renowned for its fresco paintings. Dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 7 - Assisi — Venice (Main.) (2 nights) Now to the Adriatic Coast and San Marino, one of the smallest republics in the world, with its spectacular site on the slopes of Mount Titano. From here on to the floating city of Venice, where you may wish to enjoy a romantic gondola serenade. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 8 - Venice orientation & at leisure Savour the sights and sounds of this serene city as we take our canal cruise by vaporetto to St. Mark's Square with views of the Bridge of Sighs and more. Next we visit a glass-blowing factory, before time at leisure to shop or sightsee further. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 9 - Venice (Main.) — Italian Lakes (Biadronno) (2 nights) This morning's drive takes us inland to Shakespeare's Verona. Here we stop to admire the Roman Arena and see Juliet's balcony. Finally we travel via Milan to the Italian Lake District where we spend the next two nights. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 10 - Lugano Excursion After breakfast we head out on an excursion into Switzerland and the pretty resort of Lugano. There's time here to perhaps stroll along the lakeside promenades, pedalo on the lake and enjoy the wonderful mountain air, before we return to our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 11 - Italian Lakes (Biadronno) — Florence We cross the Apennine Mountains coming to Genoa, Columbus' birthplace. From here we make our way to Pisa where we see the famous Leaning Tower in the square of miracles. Then on to our hotel in Florence. Later you may wish to enjoy a wonderful dinner in the Chianti hills — barbecue style! (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 12 - Florence sightseeing and at leisure Florence was one of the liveliest and most creative cities in Europe, so today visitor can see some of the world's greatest works of Art and most magnificent buildins here. We enjoy a sightseeing tour on foot this morning to see the marbgle Cathedral, Signoria Square, Santa Croce Basilica and Baptistry. Afterwards there's time to disvoer the artistic works of Donatello or Michelangelo and shop for quality leather and gold. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 13 - Florence — Siena — Rome This morning we drive to nearby Siena, through the Chianti-wine producing area of Tuscany. Orientation of this medieval city famous for its Palio Horse Race, reveals its rich artistic heritage. Then we make our way back to Rome for our final night — don't forget to throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain to ensure that you will return one day! (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 14 - Depart Rome 'Arrivederci Roma' as we transfer to the airport for our return flight home. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 15 - Please note This tour visits Switzerland for a short period.
