Bohemian Highlights
Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Berlin.
Day 2 - Arrive Frankfurt (Offenbach) On arrival at Berlin airport you are met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in , time to relax or start to explore this lively capital city. Later we join our Tour Director and travelling companions for a Welcome Drink.
Day 3 - Berlin sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing tour will feature a visit to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum and include views of the Reichstag Building, Tiergarten, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden Boulevard and the German State Opera House. The remainder of the day and your evening will be at leisure to do as you please. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Berlin — Poznan — Warsaw (2 nights) Our morning journey brings us first to the German border town of Frankfurt-an-der-Oder, then into Poland, stopping at Poznan, with its charming City Hall and Gothic churches. Later, we cross the central plains to the Polish capital, Warsaw. This evening we enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)
Day 5 - Warsaw sightseeing & at leisure Today we experience a miracle of reconstruction and conservation. Our guided sightseeing tour reveals the historic centre where much of the Old Town was rebuilt after the war. Also we see the site of the Warsaw Ghetto, so shockingly evoked in Polanski's recent film 'The Pianist'. At leisure perhaps visit the Wilanow Palace, residence of Polish King Sobieski — Victor of Vienna. This evening, after dinner, why not treat yourself to a Chopin recital. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6 - Warsaw — Czestochowa — Auschwitz — Krakow (2 nights) This morning we drive to Czestochowa to visit the beautiful 14th century Paulite Monastery at Jasna Gora. This is the home of the portrait of Our Lady, the 'Black Madonna' thought to have been painted by St. Luke. Next, on a more sombre note, we visit the Concentration Camp at Auschwitz and its chilling reminders of the atrocities of World War II. Then on to medieval Krakow. This evening, why not enjoy a Polish Polka Party" (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 7 - Krakow sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing tour reveals the castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill. Next we enjoy a walking tour through the medieval Old Town to visit the Cloth Hall and the Mariacki Church. Now our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure of the city, and later maybe take an excursion to visit the astonishing Wieliczka salt mine. This evening, we will enjoy dinner at our hotel. Day 8 - Krakow — Slovakia — Budapest (2 nights) After breakfast our morning drive takes us into the foothills of the Tatra Mountains, and we cross into Slovakia. Next we continue into Hungary to the capital Budapest. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 9 - Budapest sightseeing & at leisure Today's guided sightseeing tour features the main sights of the twin cities Buda and Pest, including a walking tour of the old town of Buda featuring the Fishermen's Bastion with its views across the Danube to the Parliament and the Great Synagogue. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps take a trip to Szentendre or a horse-drawn cab ride on St. Margaret Island. After dark, why not discover Eastern Europe's liveliest nightlife" Tonight, we will enjoy a traditional Hungarian dinner with music. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)
Day 10 - Budapest — Györ — Vienna (2 nights) This morning we drive through the Transdanubia region, dotted with orchards and vineyards, to Györ. Founded by the Romans, it has retained much of its medieval and baroque charm. Here there's time for a stroll before we cross the Austrian border to Imperial Vienna where we spend the next two nights. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 11 - Vienna sightseeing & at leisure From the Opera to the Hofburg, the State Opera House to St. Stephen's Cathedral, our guided sightseeing tour reveals this city's elegance. Our included walking tour highlights "Am Hof" the oldest and most secret quarter of Vienna. Later, enjoy time at leisure to sightsee further and shop along the fashionable Kärntnerstrasse. This evening, why not join an optional excursion and head to one of the wine villages to dine at a lively 'heurige' inn" (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 12 - Vienna — Tabor — Prague (2 nights) Today we travel to the town of Schrems and enter Southern Bohemia, driving past Trebon. Next, we visit Tabor, once the headquarters of the 15th century religious reformer, John Huss. From here we make our way to the Czech capital Prague, a lively hub of art and culture, for our two-night stay. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 13 - Prague sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing tour reveals one of the most beautifully preserved cities in Europe. Our walking tour includes Hradçany Castle, a visit to the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square. Later, time to visit one of the royal castles or enjoy a lunch cruise. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 14 - Prague — Pilsen — Nuremberg — Frankfurt (Offenbach) Today's drive takes us through the Czech Republic to Pilsen — famous for its beer and Sköda factory. Then we head into western Germany and on to Nuremberg. Here we see the castle and its ramparts before arriving in Frankfurt for our final night. Tonight, we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)
Day 15 - Frankfurt — USA Bid farewell to new-found friends as we transfer you to the airport for your return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast)
