Spend a week discovering the Canadian Rockies. Pick up your rental car in Calgary, then drive west to breathtaking Lake Louse and Moraine Lake. Travel along Icefields Parkway and stop at the Columbia Icefields, the largest icefield south of Alaska. Take an Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier or join a guided glacier walk, then continue north to Athabasca Falls, one of the most powerful falls in the Rockies. In Jasper National Park, there's plenty of time for hiking, canoeing, or mountain biking. Don - t miss Maligne Lake, where you can cruise across to Spirit Island. On to Banff and Banff National Park, Canada's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain, and enjoy scenic Tunnel Mountain Drive with views of the Bow Valley, Bow Falls, and rock formations called "hoodoos."
